In the state of Virginia patients 21 years or older may qualify for Medicinal Cannabis as a treatment options for multiple medical conditions, to include chronic pain and PTSD. We recommend that you check with your primary care provider or your mental health provider if you are considering Medical Cannabis as a treatment option. 
 

Patients must be evaluated by a provider who is licensed to issue a certification. Once you have been evaluated and qualifications are met, you will receive the certificate the same day.

To qualify for a Medical Cannabis Certification in Virginia, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Be diagnosed with a medical condition you believe will benefit from medical cannabis treatment.

•  Have a written Medical Cannabis Certification from an approved registered provider.

•  Hold a valid VA Driver’s License / State ID or proof of Virginia residency.
